From cave
paintings to hieroglyphics…from parchment to print…from books to…
How we pride ourselves this day and age in the aspect
of Communication - exponential in speed and scope! I shall never be done
savouring the glorious irony that this boon came out of wartime technology.
Many of our global neighbours are now as close as a few keystrokes! However,
as always, we need to be mindful of our conceit. For as with all gifts
it comes with a responsibility, that is, a needful appreciation and awareness
of the scope of the gift and how it is used. A great part of our Evolution
is, without a doubt, quite literally at our fingertips…
How we communicate now is as ever, if not more so, just
as important as what we convey. One need look no further than into their
own lives to evaluate the fundamental effectiveness of face-to-face conversations
with others. Language - what would we do without it? Yet heed what havoc
it has wreaked as well… Do we ‘listen in order to understand’, exchanging
ideas, or ‘tell’ in order to convince? Do we tend to shun those who are
not in absolute agreement with us… does the language we use define and
defensively proclaim our boundaries, or does it graciously invite others
to enter into our perceptions? Never has there been a better time to take
inventory of our habits as well as our ‘agendas’.
There will always be those whose sole objective is to
seek out the like-minded, to reap and hoard validation, or to maintain
“Being Right” at any cost. Tribe Mentality. And while many of us may court
such perceived comforts in some measure, this one purpose for our existence
hardly makes for a worthwhile legacy! We hear over and again nowadays that
we live in a small world…oh, really? I see a Lotus Flower ever opening…
If you could, what would you say to your 6 BILLION neighbours that will
help us all tomorrow?

by the keyboard...raised to the velocity of cyberspace!” (with permission

Me thinks
words ought really, truly reach
all whom they can, and not beseech
more understanding - and demand
us all the one to comprehend!
We, lacking methods above words;
how else to know we’re truly heard?
Me thinks they ought be used as such;
In best effort to reach out
and touch…
