Aspects of Being
Is it how we qualify "The Mystical" that is one of our greatest obstacles to finding it? Why must the Here and Now be precluded? How can they not be One? There are 'Miracles' all around us, yet with eyes closed and minds so easily distracted, they pass us by in legion. Hasn't this long been so! Isn't everything about perception? - Looking within, looking without. I recently viewed an Internet site that portrayed a version of something I'd seen when I was much younger - and which had changed me then. It was a visual rendition of the Microcosmic and Macrocosmic scope... Focusing on but a dim pinpoint of our spiraling Milky Way from 10 million Light Years away, the pictures gradually close in on our galactic neighbourhood to the power of 10. It takes quite a while! Eventually the viewer comes to our own solar system, our planet, a continent, a region, a plot of land, and then a tree looking up at the heavens. But it's not over... The presentation then continues to look at but a single leaf on that tree magnified and magnified again. It closes in on its surface, a leaf cell, its nucleus, the DNA strand, the outer electron cloud of a carbon atom, then the very nucleus of that one atom down to a single proton. The viewer at this 'completion' then has the option of zooming in and out again in the same increments. Breathtaking... Stupefying! Should we have so much time, most of us could spend days and months looking and still not be able to begin to grasp the magnitude of these focus points! Yet who is to say that we need to 'understand'? Who would shun an opportunity to embrace Awe? To revel in wonder is to be a glorious part of it. Yet we dismiss it readily and often enough. Studying and appreciating 'wonders' is not at all the same as claiming to understand them, for this delusion often accomplishes little more than inevitably placing us on the "outside", as if we were merely voyeurs, above it all! And this has long been our human folly after we lost our "Connection". Still here we are, the many who search for Truth, Light, Wisdom and Wonders - the 'Altered State'. Some possess it and manage to maintain it, though not as easily as we'd imagine, for it is indeed a matter of practice. Some longingly await its return if it is seemingly lost. Others attempt to make it an expedient end instead of a journey of discovery. Yet truly it seems that we must seek our own version of it, to have it feel real. All one need do is look around and but begin to appreciate the Micro and Macro of our own available perception points, remembering however that they are by no stretch finite! The Mystical is in fact all around us and within, no doubt anticipating our increments of acknowledgment, leading to our awakening... See the child dancing
in circles and falling into a giggling heap, literally dizzy with delight!
They already know how to get there somehow. Perhaps we spend the rest of
our days trying to recapture that which we once knew innately...
