Aspects of Being
It is not my way to presume to hold any one particular practice or doctrine to be complete unto itself, for we dance in many shoes, even in one lifetime. I have found in my own journey that many wisdoms have made for a richer life, within a well as around. It makes no never-mind to me what label it happens to fall under; if it comes to me when I am in sincere need, then I consider it a blessing. And I consider myself much blessed! I've come through many a dark time intact if not fortified by such precious, welcome, and sometimes subtle boons....and I do believe they all come from one source. It is not my way to presume I fully understand entire doctrines. However, a Pearl of Wisdom is a gift nonetheless, whether I know the tribulations of the oyster, or how many have carried this gift before me. Still, I can choose to be aware of both! It is the practice of "detachment" that I am speaking of here... Now, what some might deem a veritable cop-out in terms of dealing with "reality" is actually no more (no less, I should say!) than an attempt, an opportunity, to embrace the fuller meaning of a particular moment or circumstance. It doesn't necessarily eliminate the episodes of pain and discomfort in our human form, rather, it allows one to look beyond an often limiting, single aspect of it. It widens our perspective and scope - inviting us to nurture our understanding and awareness. Some call it the "Silver Lining". It's also called 'a blessing in disguise', once cause and effect are revealed to our sight. Some get there through prayer and meditation. But however it is achieved, it helps to dispel the myth that we are the center of the universe, easing us through the inevitable periods of transition in our lives. It can grant us peace in but a single moment of clarity - yet that one moment can be a signpost, telling us where we really stand as well as what possible directions we may head in. In other words, it takes us to the place where we can better hear our Inner Voice, in and among the din and cacophony of distractions we are inundated with....informing us that this moment is simply part of all....part of all... Perhaps the most rewarding
measure of grace is that it can take us as close to things or as far away
as one needs to be for the time. And perhaps...perhaps it is the fundamental
essence of our beloved and sacred notion of Free Will....

pregnant moment, waiting for the Listener....
