Art in the Age of Cyberspace They say art is eternal. Only if we keep it alive by interpreting it anew in each age.

They drew us out of a dark age of mind
with their voices,
called our spirits out into contemplation
of another, bigger world, one that we might walk in
someday. After a lot of hard work.
That’s the part that got lost
in the backwash of testosterone splashing into
little girls noses, seeping into their loins,
by way of their hearts,
their minds. I don’t know about how guys reacted.
Feel free to fill in that blank
anonymous poet guy!
The rest is history. They came, they saw,
they took us for a ride into the sunrise. We are long past midday.
We face the future
with uncertainty, yet pride. We are the first race of our kind
on Earth, maybe
in the whole damn galaxy. Right now we don’t
know the fuck as much about anything as we think we do, but
someday
we might, and go to the stars as well
as we chant a few of their haunting
joyous thoughts
to fire us on our way.
